Conyers, GA – Car Accident on I-20 Near Sigman Rd Leads to Injuries
Conyers, GA (July 5, 2021) – At 3:10 a.m. on the morning of Monday, July 5, a car accident with injuries occurred on a highway in Conyers.
According to Rockdale County officials, the accident happened in the eastbound lanes of I-20 around the area of Sigman Road. Two or more vehicles were traveling in the area when they collided with each other due to reasons that are not yet known. The vehicles involved in the crash were badly damaged and had to be removed from the scene by tow trucks.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those with injuries. One or more victims were hospitalized with injuries, though their conditions are not known at this time.
The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time. Police confirmed that all lanes of traffic were closed and this led to delays for some time. Police urged those in the area to take Old Covington Highway as an alternate route.
The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
