Conley, GA – Truck Accident Leads to Injuries in WB Lanes of I-285
Conley, GA (October 19, 2021) – At 4:46 p.m. on the afternoon of Tuesday, October 19, a truck accident with injuries occurred in Conley.
According to DeKalb County officials, the accident happened in the westbound lanes of I-285 around the area of exit 53, Moreland Avenue. Several vehicles were traveling in the area when they collided due to reasons that are not yet known. One of the vehicles was identified as a tractor-trailer. The truck and the involved passenger vehicle were badly damaged as a result.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims, who have not yet been identified, were injured as a result of the accident. The injured parties were taken to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries.
Due to the severity of the accident, the roadway was blocked in two center lanes. Police urged those in the area to use I-20 as an alternate route.
No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
