Columbus, GA – Several Injured in Car Accident at Brown Ave Intersection
Columbus, GA (July 21, 2022) – Several people were injured in a car accident that took place at a Columbus intersection on Wednesday, July 20.
According to Columbus Police Department officials, the accident happened at the intersection of Brown Avenue and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. Police were attempting to pull over a vehicle in the area. As soon as they attempted to pull over the individual, the suspect drove away and crashed into another vehicle at the intersection. The vehicles involved in the crash were extensively damaged.
Several responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were called to the scene to help those in need. A total of three people were hurt in the accident between the two vehicles. The injured parties were taken to local hospitals for treatment, though their conditions are not yet known.
Due to the severity of the accident, a large portion of the roadway was blocked at the intersection. Police worked to clear the scene as quickly as possible so traffic could return to normal.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
