Columbus, GA – Man Killed in Fatal Pedestrian Crash on Veterans Pkwy
Columbus, GA (July 13, 2021) – At 5:44 a.m. on the morning of Tuesday, July 13, a man was killed in a fatal pedestrian crash in Columbus.
According to police, the accident took place at 1400 Veterans Parkway in the early morning hours. A pedestrian, identified as a 60-year-old man from the area, was walking on the roadway when he was suddenly struck by a passenger vehicle. It is believed that the vehicle that struck him remained at the scene.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other local responders were immediately dispatched to the scene. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene around 6:28 a.m. Nobody else was injured in the accident.
The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time as police cleared the scene.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
