Atlanta, GA - EMTs Transport Victims of Jimmy Carter Blvd Accident at Singleton Rd

College Park, GA (August 31, 2022) – Two people were killed in a fatal car accident that took place on a major highway in College Park on Tuesday evening, August 30.

According to local officials, the accident happened around 5:48 p.m. on Old National Highway near the Sullivan Road intersection. Police confirmed that a driver was traveling in a Mitsubishi Galante in the area when their vehicle slammed into a Ford pickup truck due to reasons that are not yet known. Both of the vehicles were left with extensive damage in the accident.

Several emergency responders, including local fire crews and paramedics, were called to the scene to help those in need. Two passengers were discovered in the front and back seats of the passenger vehicle. They were tragically pronounced dead at the scene due to traumatic injuries. The driver, who has not yet been identified, was hospitalized with serious injuries. The driver of the pickup truck was not hurt.

The roadway was blocked in the area of the intersection for some time following the crash. Police worked to clear the scene as quickly as possible.

The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues at this time.
