College Park, GA – Tractor-Trailer Crash with Injuries on The Perimeter
College Park, GA (August 23, 2021) – At 3:38 p.m. on the afternoon of Monday, August 23, a tractor-trailer crash with injuries occurred on a highway in College Park.
According to officials, the accident happened in the westbound lanes of The Perimeter around the area of exit 60, Riverdale Road. A passenger vehicle was traveling in the area when it collided with a tractor-trailer. The truck was struck so forcefully that it jackknifed in the middle of the road, causing extensive damages.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims were taken to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries. Their conditions are not yet known.
The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time, which led to extensive delays. Police urged those in the area to use Highway 166 as an alternate route.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
