College Park, GA (February 12, 2022) – Two people sustained injuries in a pedestrian crash that tool place at an intersection in College Park on Friday afternoon, February 11.

According to Georgia State Patrol officials, the accident happened around 3:45 p.m. at the intersection of Old National Highway and Sullivan Road. A silver Chevrolet Equinox was traveling in the area when the driver lost control and drove off the side of the road. The vehicle went onto the sidewalk and struck a MARTA bus stop enclosure with two pedestrians inside. The pedestrians were waiting for the bus when the collision happened.

Several responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The two pedestrians and the driver of the vehicle, who have not yet been identified, sustained injuries in the accident. They were rushed to the hospital for treatment of their injuries.

Due to the severity of the collision, the roadway was blocked at the intersection for an extended period of time.

No further details have been released but the investigation continues. Police will update with more information as it becomes available.
