Chickamauga, GA – Two-Vehicle Crash with Injuries at GA-341 & Wheeler Ave
Chickamauga, GA (December 10, 2022) – Injuries were reported in a car accident that took place at an intersection in Chickamauga on the afternoon of Friday, December 9.
According to Walker County officials, the accident happened around 4:40 p.m. at the intersection of GA-341 and Wheeler Avenue. Two vehicles were traveling in the area when they collided with each other, causing extensive damages. One of the involved drivers got out of their vehicle and into a second one, fleeing the scene.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were called to the scene to help those left behind. The injured parties inside the other vehicle that remained at the scene had to be extricated by fire crews. The parties were then rushed to local hospitals for treatment of serious injuries. Their current conditions are not yet known.
The roadway was blocked in the area of the intersection for some time. Police worked to clear the scene as quickly as possible.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues. Police will update with more information as it becomes available.
