Chickamauga, GA – Head-on Collision at Childress Hollow Rd & Garretts Chapel Rd
Chickamauga, GA (October 15, 2021) – At 5 p.m. on the evening of Friday, October 15, a head-on collision occurred at an intersection in Chickamauga.
According to Walker County officials, the accident happened at the intersection of Childress Hollow Road and Garretts Chapel Road. Two vehicles were traveling in the area when they entered the intersection at the same time, colliding head-on into one another. The vehicles involved in the accident were extensively damaged as a result.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. Several people were hurt in the accident. The injured parties were taken to local hospitals for treatment, though their conditions are not yet known.
Due to the severity of the collision, a large portion of the roadway was blocked in the area for some time.
The investigation into the accident remains ongoing.
