Chickamauga, GA – Fatal Head-on Collision at Myers Rd & Johnson Rd
Chickamauga, GA (August 14, 2021) – On Saturday afternoon, August 14, a fatal head-on collision occurred at an intersection in Chickamauga.
According to Chickamauga officials, the accident happened at the intersection of Myers Road and Johnson Road. Walker County officials confirmed that two vehicles were traveling in the area when they collided head-on with each other. The vehicles involved in the accident were extensively damaged due to the crash.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. One or more parties were trapped in their vehicles and had to be rescued. One person, who has not yet been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene. Other parties sustained injuries but their conditions are not yet known.
The roadway was blocked in the area of the intersection for an extended period of time as police cleared the scene.
No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
