Chatsworth, GA – Gas Station Truck Crash at Hwy 76 & Hwy 52 Kills Man, Injures Others
Chatsworth, GA (August 13, 2021) – Troopers with the Georgia State Patrol are investigating a fatal truck accident that occurred on U.S. Highway 76 in Chatsworth on Wednesday, August 11.
According to officials, the driver of the truck, identified only as a 53-year-old man, was killed in the accident. The truck reportedly slammed into a Citgo gas station around 5:00 a.m.
A preliminary report from the says that the truck driver was heading eastbound on Georgia State Highway 52 at Greeson Bend Road. The man then suffered an apparent medical condition before leaving the roadway, per a report released by officers.
Medical authorities declared the man dead at a local hospital. EMS units were also on the scene to treat injured victims, though the total number of injured victims is unknown.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
