Chatham Co, GA – Driver Injured in Dump Truck Accident on Veterans Pkwy
Chatham Co, GA (August 3, 2021) – A truck accident involving injuries occurred in Chatham County on Tuesday afternoon, August 3.
Troopers with the Georgia State Patrol say they are still investigating the crash, which involved a dump truck and one other vehicle. The dump truck’s driver was reportedly seriously injured and transported to an area medical center for further treatment.
It’s unclear if any other victims were injured in the accident, however.
Police say that the incident occurred on Veteran’s Parkway, causing the roadway to be restricted to one lane in each direction after the dump truck hit the overpass bridge as a result of the wreck.
The Chatham County Police Department also requested for crews to inspect the overpass for structural issues.
The crash is still under investigation, and anyone with information is asked to contact investigators.
