6/13 Cairo, GA – Two Individuals Killed in Fatal Collision on GA-111

Cartersville, GA (April 7, 2021) – At 7 p.m. on the evening of Sunday, April 4, two people were killed in a Cartersville fire. The victims have since been identified.

According to officials, the fire broke out in a home at 170 Oak Leaf Drive. The home was identified as a 1,700-square-foot home that was 35 years old. When fire crews arrived at the scene, they found that the home was fully engulfed in flames.

Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were present at the scene. Two residents were home at the time of the fire and pronounced dead at the scene. They have since been identified as a 72-year-old woman and a 20-year-old man.

Police have not yet verified the circumstances leading up to the fire.

At this time, the investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
