Cartersville, GA – Two Killed in House Fire on Oak Leaf Dr
Cartersville, GA (April 6, 2021) – At 7 p.m. on Easter Sunday evening, April 4, two people were killed in a house fire that occurred in Cartersville.
According to Bartow County officials, the fire broke out in a home at 170 Oak Leaf Drive. Bartow County Fire responded to the scene, where they found that heavy black smoke could be seen pouring out of the residence. The structure very quickly became fully engulfed in flames.
Paramedics were dispatched to assist at the scene. Two people were allegedly trapped inside the home until fire crews were able to access them. The two family members were found deceased inside the home. Two other victims were able to escape and were taken to the hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation injuries.
The area was blocked for some time following the fire.
No further details have been released but the investigation continues.
