Cartersville, GA (December 6, 2021) – At 3:33 a.m. on the morning of Sunday, December 5, a fatal house fire occurred in a home in Cartersville.

According to Cartersville officials, the incident took place in a home at 8 Oakdale Drive. When fire crews arrived at the scene, they found a home that was fully engulfed in flames and smoke. Fire officials received information that parties could be inside so they conducted a search while working to get the fire under control.

Paramedics and numerous other local responders were immediately dispatched to the scene. Two victims were found inside the home and pulled out to safety. The victims, identified as a 24-year-old woman and a 14-month-old, were pronounced dead at the scene. Nobody else was hurt in the fire.

The area was blocked off for an extended period of time as the fire was brought under control.

No further details have been released. The investigation into the circumstances of the fire remains ongoing.
