Cartersville, GA – One Injured in Serious Rollover Accident on I-75
Cartersville, GA (January 10, 2022) – One person was seriously injured in a rollover accident on a highway in Cartersville around 4 p.m. on Saturday, January 8.
According to Bartow County officials, the accident happened in the southbound lanes of I-75 around the area of mile marker 293. Police confirmed that a 2002 Toyota 4Runner and a Ford Freestar were traveling south when the vehicles collided forcefully with each other. The Toyota 4Runner then ran off the side of the road where it overturned in the woods. The Ford stopped in the middle of the road. Both of the vehicles sustained severe damages.
Paramedics and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The driver of the 4Runner, who has been identified as a 43-year-old man, was seriously injured in the accident. He was transported to Kennestone Hospital for treatment of injuries, though his condition is not yet known.
Due to the severity of the accident, southbound lanes of traffic were blocked in the area for a period of time.
No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
