Cartersville, GA – Fatal Pedestrian Crash on Joe Frank Harris Pkwy
Cartersville, GA (June 29, 2021) – Around 11:30 p.m. on Monday night, June 28, a fatal pedestrian crash occurred in Cartersville.
According to Bartow County officials, the accident happened at the intersection of Joe Frank Harris Parkway and Center Road. A woman was walking in the area with her 6-week-old baby when they were struck by a passenger vehicle traveling through the intersection.
Paramedics and numerous other responders were called to the scene. The pedestrian, identified as a 30-year-old woman, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her 6-week-old baby daughter was rushed to Egleston Hospital for treatment of traumatic injuries but she was pronounced dead while there.
The roadway was blocked in the area of the intersection for an extended period of time.
Police continue their investigation into the circumstances of the collision.
