Carrollton, GA – Fatal Two-Vehicle Collision at GA-166 & Maple St Intersection
Carrollton, GA (May 23, 2022) – One victim lost their life in a fatal two-vehicle collision that took place at an intersection in Carrollton on Sunday evening, May 22.
According to authorities, the accident happened around 7:49 p.m. at the intersection of GA-166 and Maple Street. Two vehicles were traveling in the area when they collided with each other due to reasons that are not yet known. The involved vehicles were extensively damaged as a result of the accident.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. One person, who has not yet been identified, was pulled from their vehicle with traumatic injuries. They were tragically pronounced dead at the scene due to their injuries.
Due to the severity of the accident, the roadway was blocked at the intersection for a period of time. Police quickly worked to clear the scene so traffic was able to continue in the area.
Georgia State Patrol officials continue their investigation into the circumstances of the accident at this time.
