Camilla, GA – Man Killed in Fatal Truck Accident on US-19
Camilla, GA (December 7, 2021) – Around 5:15 a.m. on Tuesday morning, December 7, a man was killed in a fatal truck accident in Camilla.
According to Mitchell County officials, the accident happened at 7220 US-19. The driver of a Ford Fusion was traveling in the area when the Ford collided with the side of a tractor-trailer due to reasons that are not yet known. The accident happened near the driveway of a home. The Fusion sustained severe damages as a result.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The driver of the Fusion was tragically pronounced dead at the scene due to traumatic injuries. Nobody else was injured in the accident.
Due to the severity of the accident, the roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time.
No further details have been released. The investigation into the circumstances of the collision remains ongoing.
