Calhoun, GA – Woman Killed in Fatal Crash at GA-53 & Rome Rd
Calhoun, GA (July 12, 2021) – At 12:30 p.m. on Saturday afternoon, July 10, a woman was killed in a fatal crash at an intersection in Calhoun.
According to the Georgia State Patrol, the accident happened at the intersection of GA-53 and Rome Road. A vehicle was traveling in the area when it entered the intersection and was struck by a second vehicle forcefully. The first vehicle was struck on the side by the second vehicle, which led to extensive damages.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The driver of the first vehicle, identified as a 47-year-old woman, was pronounced dead at the scene. Nobody else was injured in the accident.
The roadway was blocked in the area until police were able to completely clear the scene.
No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
