Calhoun, GA – Multi-Vehicle Collision Injures Three on Red Bud Rd
Calhoun, GA (October 25, 2021) – On Monday morning, October 25, a multi-vehicle collision with injuries occurred on a roadway in Calhoun.
According to Georgia State Patrol officials, the accident happened on Red Bud Road around the area of Knight Drive. A vehicle hauling dumpsters was traveling in the area when it suddenly rear-ended four vehicles. The vehicles were stopped in the area due to a previous crash. Two of the vehicles were struck so forcefully that they went over an embankment on the side of the road. The vehicles forcefully overturned, which led to extensive damages.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. Three people were hurt in the accident. A 74-year-old man received severe injuries and was taken to the hospital by medical helicopter. A 61-year-old man and a 28-year-old woman received minor injuries and were taken to the hospital by ambulance.
The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time. Police worked to quickly clear the scene.
No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
