Calhoun, GA – Car Crash with Injuries at Dews Pond Rd & Owens Chapel Rd
Calhoun, GA (September 20, 2021) – At 8:30 a.m. on Monday morning, September 20, a car crash with injuries occurred at an intersection in Calhoun.
According to Gordon County officials, the accident happened at the intersection of Dews Pond Road and Owens Chapel Road. A pickup truck was traveling in the area when the vehicle collided head-on with a Toyota sedan. It is believed that the driver of the pickup truck lost control in rainy conditions. The vehicles involved in the accident were badly damaged as a result.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The adult female driving the sedan was extricated from her vehicle and taken to the hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
The roadway was blocked in the area of the intersection for a period of time as police worked to clear the scene.
The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
