Calhoun, GA – Bicycle Accident with Injuries on W Belmont Dr
Calhoun, GA (April 18, 2021) – Around 8:30 p.m. on the night of Saturday, April 17, a bicycle accident with injuries occurred in Calhoun.
According to Gordon County officials, the accident happened at 450 West Belmont Drive in front of the local Walmart. A bicyclist was riding in the area when they were suddenly struck and knocked down by a passenger vehicle. The bicycle sustained severe damages.
Paramedics and numerous other local responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The bicyclist, who has not yet been identified, was taken to the hospital for treatment of their injuries.
The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time.
No further details have been released but the investigation continues.
