Buford, GA – Woman Killed in Fatal House Fire on Kennesaw St
Buford, GA (August 26, 2021) – At 2:43 a.m. on the morning of Wednesday, August 25, a woman was killed in a fatal house fire in Buford.
According to fire crews, a single-story residence was reportedly on fire. Fire crews arrived at the scene and found flames blowing out the windows at the rear of the house. After entering the home, fire crews discovered that there was an adult female inside the basement. Because the home was partially blocked, fire crews had trouble accessing the home.
Fire crews attempted to reach the center of the house. From there, they discovered the floor had collapsed into the basement. Firefighters had to stop their search and rescue and put their full attention on putting out the fire.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene. A woman and four children were able to make it out of the home safely. However, one woman was in the basement at the time of the fire. The 41-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
The area was blocked off for some time until police were able to clear the scene.
No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
We would like to offer our deepest condolences to the family of the deceased victim at this time.
