Brunswick, GA – Fatal Bicycle Accident on F J Torras Causeway
Brunswick, GA (October 6, 2021) – At 4:15 a.m. on the morning of Wednesday, October 6, a fatal bicycle accident occurred on a Brunswick roadway.
According to state troopers, the accident happened on the F.J. Torras Causeway around the area of Terry Creek Road. A 22-year-old man was riding his bicycle in the area headed eastbound. A Toyota Rav4 was traveling behind the bike and suddenly struck the bicyclist due to reasons that are not yet known. The Rav4 and a Hyundai Tucson that witnessed the accident remained at the scene.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene to help. The bicyclist was pronounced dead at the scene due to his traumatic injuries. Nobody else was injured in the collision.
Due to the severity of the accident, traffic began to back up in the eastbound lanes. Police quickly worked to clear the scene.
No further details have been released. The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
