Blythe, GA – Two Killed in Fatal Truck Crash at Bath-Edie Rd & GA-88
Blythe, GA (June 11, 2021) – At 11:21 a.m. on Friday morning, June 11, a fatal truck crash occurred at an intersection in Blythe.
According to the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office, the accident happened at the intersection of Bath-Edie Road and GA-88. A Nissan Altima was traveling in the area when it was struck by a commercial box truck due to reasons that are not yet known.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other local responders were dispatched to the scene. Both occupants of the passenger vehicle involved in the accident were extricated from the vehicle. The passenger, identified as a 40-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver, identified as a 72-year-old woman, was hospitalized but was pronounced dead while there.
The intersection was blocked in the area for several hours but police worked to clear the scene.
The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
