Barnesville, GA – Pedestrian Accident Involving Train Near Grove St
Barnesville, GA (April 25, 2021) – Around 8 a.m. on Thursday morning, April 22, a pedestrian accident involving a train took place in Barnesville.
According to officials, the accident happened on the railroad tracks near the First Baptist Church and Grove Street. Two engines were traveling in the area near the church playground. An adult female was waiting for the first engine to pass and then crossed the tracks. She was struck by the second engine as it traveled through the area.
Paramedics called in a medical helicopter, which flew the adult female to Atlanta Medical Center Trauma Unit. She remains in critical condition as a result of her injuries.
The area was blocked for an extended period of time following the crash.
No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
