Ball Ground, GA – Fatal Truck Crash at Matt Hwy & Old Federal Rd
Ball Ground, GA (September 9, 2021) – On Wednesday morning, September 8, a fatal truck crash occurred at an intersection in Ball Ground.
According to Forsyth County Police, the accident happened at the intersection of Matt Highway and Old Federal Road. An elderly man was driving his Kia Soul in the area when his vehicle was suddenly struck by a semi-truck traveling through the intersection. The semi-truck collided with the front of the Kia’s driver door.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene. The elderly man was tragically pronounced dead at the scene due to traumatic injuries. The driver of the truck was not hurt but remained at the scene.
The roadway was blocked in the area of the intersection for a period of time. This led to delays until the scene was cleared.
