Bainbridge, GA – One Killed in Fatal Boat Crash on Flint River
Bainbridge, GA (March 21, 2022) – On Saturday, March 19, one person was killed and two others sustained injuries in a Bainbridge boat accident.
According to local officials, the accident happened on the Flint River near the area of Boat Basin Park. An Xpress Center Console boat was traveling in the area when it suddenly collided with a 2001 Stratos bass boat near the area of the Highway 84 bridge. Both of the boats were involved in separate fishing tournaments at the time the boat crash took place.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The operator of the Stratos was tragically pronounced dead at the scene due to traumatic injuries. The driver of the Xpress and his 16-year-old passenger were hospitalized with injuries in Florida.
Due to the severity of the accident, the area was blocked off for some time.
No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing. Police will update with more information as it is made available.
