Austell, GA – Several-Vehicle Collision with Injuries in EB Lanes of I-20
Austell, GA (June 4, 2022) – Injuries stemmed from a several-vehicle collision that took place on a highway in Austell on the afternoon of Saturday, June 4.
According to Cobb County officials, the accident happened around 1:40 p.m. in the eastbound lanes of I-20 around the area of exit 46, Riverside Parkway. Two or more vehicles were traveling in the area when they became involved in a chain-reaction crash due to reasons that are not fully known. The vehicles involved in the accident were extensively damaged as a result of the accident.
Several local responders, including Cobb County paramedics and fire crews, were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One or more parties were injured in the accident. They were treated at the scene and then rushed to local hospitals for treatment.
Two left lanes of traffic were entirely blocked following the collision for some time. Police urged those in the area to use Highway 78 as an alternate route.
