Augusta, GA – Woman Killed in Fatal Truck Crash on Sand Bar Ferry Rd
Augusta, GA (June 14, 2021) – At 1:57 p.m. on the afternoon of Monday, June 14, a woman was killed in a fatal truck crash in Augusta.
According to Richmond County officials, the accident happened on Sand Bar Ferry Road near the Laney Walker exit. A passenger vehicle was traveling in the area when it was suddenly struck by a tractor-trailer due to unknown reasons. The passenger vehicle was catastrophically damaged due to the collision.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene. The driver of the passenger vehicle, identified as a 74-year-old woman, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. It is not known if anyone was injured in the crash.
One lane of traffic was blocked in the area for a period of time following the collision.
No further details have been released. The investigation into the collision continues.
