Augusta, GA – Woman Killed in Fatal Four-Wheeler Crash on Barton Chapel Rd
Augusta, GA (May 27, 2022) – A woman was killed in a fatal four-wheeler accident that took place on a roadway in Augusta on Friday night, May 27.
According to Augusta Police, the accident happened before 11 p.m. on Barton Chapel Road. A woman was driving her four-wheeler in the area when it was suddenly struck by a Dodge Challenger. After being struck, the four-wheeler drove into the path of a Richmond County patrol vehicle and was struck a second time. Both drivers remained at the scene of the crash.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The woman, who has not yet been formally identified, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene due to her injuries. Nobody else sustained injuries in the accident.
The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time after the accident. Police quickly worked to clear the scene.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident remains ongoing.
