Augusta, GA – Woman Killed in Fatal Accident on Mike Padgett Hwy
Augusta, GA (December 14, 2021) – On Sunday, December 12, a woman was killed in a fatal accident on a roadway in Augusta.
According to Richmond County officials, the accident happened on Mike Padgett Highway. A 27-year-old woman from Alden Drive was traveling south in the area when her vehicle was suddenly rear-ended by a vehicle also headed south. The accident led to extensive damages to the involved vehicles.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The woman in the southbound vehicle was taken to Augusta University Medical Center with multiple blunt force injuries. She was tragically pronounced dead at the scene due to her injuries.
Due to the severity of the accident, the roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time.
No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing at this time.
