Augusta, GA – Truck Accident at Wheeler Rd & Mark Church Rd
Augusta, GA (May 5, 2021) – Around 7:30 a.m. on the morning of Wednesday, May 5, a serious truck accident occurred at an Augusta intersection.
According to officials, the accident happened at the intersection of Wheeler Road and Mark Church Road in the area of O’Charley’s Restaurant and a shopping area. A garbage truck was traveling west in the area as a passenger vehicle was traveling north. The two vehicles collided, causing the garbage truck to overturn.
Paramedics and numerous other local responders were present at the scene. One person was injured in the accident, though their condition is not yet known.
The roadway was blocked in the area for approximately 15 minutes until police cleared the scene.
No further details have been released. The investigation into the collision continues.
