Augusta, GA – One Injured in Car Crash at River Watch Pkwy & 15th St
Augusta, GA (July 17, 2022) – One person sustained injuries as a result of a car accident that took place at an intersection in Augusta on Saturday afternoon, July 16.
According to Richmond County officials, the accident happened around 3 p.m. at the intersection of River Watch Parkway and 15th Street. Two or more vehicles were allegedly traveling in the area when the vehicles entered the intersection and collided with each other. One of the vehicles, identified as a blue SUV, sustained severe front-end damage as a result of the collision.
Several responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One person, who has not yet been identified, was injured in the accident. The victim was taken to Augusta University Medical Center for treatment, though their condition is not yet known.
Due to the severity of the accident, the roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time. Police worked to clear the scene as quickly as possible.
No further details have been released. The investigation into the circumstances of the accident remains ongoing.
