Augusta, GA – Multi-Vehicle Collision Leads to Injuries in WB Lanes of I-20
Augusta, GA (November 4, 2021) – At 8:58 a.m. on the morning of Thursday, November 4, a multi-vehicle collision with injuries occurred in Augusta.
According to Richmond County deputies, the accident happened in the westbound lanes of I-20 around the area of the state line. Several vehicles were traveling in the area when they collided with each other due to reasons that are not entirely known. The vehicles involved in the accident were badly damaged as a result.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims were injured as a result of the accident. The injured victims were taken to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries, though their identities and conditions are not yet known.
The roadway was blocked in the area for miles until police cleared the scene. Police urged those in the area to use alternate routes until the scene was cleared.
