Augusta, GA – Man Killed in Fatal Moped Accident on Deans Bridge Rd
Augusta, GA (October 15, 2021) – At 10:45 p.m. on Thursday night, October 14, a man was killed in a fatal moped accident in Augusta.
According to Richmond County officials, the accident happened on Deans Bridge Road. A 30-year-old man was riding his moped in the area when he was struck by a passenger vehicle around the area of mile marker 11. The moped sustained severe damages as a result of the collision.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The moped rider was tragically pronounced dead at the scene due to severe injuries. It is not known if anyone else was hurt in the accident.
Due to the severity of the accident, the roadway was blocked until police were able to clear the scene.
No further details have been released. The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
