Augusta, GA – Injuries Reported in Car Accident in WB Lanes of I-20
Augusta, GA (November 23, 2022) – Injuries stemmed from a serious car accident that took place on a highway in Augusta on the afternoon of Wednesday, November 23.
According to Augusta officials, the accident happened around 1 p.m. in the westbound lanes of I-20 around the area of Belair Road. Police confirmed that several vehicles were traveling in the westbound lanes of traffic when they collided with each other due to reasons that are not entirely known. The involved vehicles were badly damaged as a result of the collision.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. One or more parties were hurt as a result of the collision. The injured parties were taken to local hospitals for treatment, though their conditions are not yet known.
The roadway was blocked in almost all lanes of traffic until the scene was cleared. Police did not fully clear the scene until 3 p.m.
