Augusta, GA – Deputy Injured in Car Crash at Gordon Hwy & Highland Ave
Augusta, GA (June 8, 2021) – At 8 p.m. on Monday night, June 7, a deputy was injured in a car crash that took place at an Augusta intersection.
According to Augusta officials, the accident happened at the intersection of Gordon Highway and Highland Avenue. A Richmond County deputy was traveling through the intersection when his cruiser became involved in a collision with two other vehicles. The vehicles were all extensively damaged due to the collision.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The deputy was the only person injured in the accident. He was rushed to a local hospital for treatment of injuries but is expected to be okay.
The roadway was blocked at the intersection for a period of time.
No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
