Atlanta, GA – Woman Hurt in Car Crash on I-85 SB at Piedmont Rd
Atlanta, GA (October 27, 2021) – Police said one victim sustained injuries after an apparent reckless driving crash early Wednesday morning, October 27.
Police indicated that a car traveling along southbound Interstate 85 wound up in a wood line near Piedmont Road after the driver clipped the highway barrier.
An Atlanta police officer responded to the scene around 2:30 a.m. and found a woman stuck inside the vehicle, a GMC SUV. A man, believed to be the driver, was outside of the car at the time of the officer’s arrival.
The Atlanta Fire Department helped rescue the woman, and EMS transported her to the hospital with a broken leg.
The events leading up to the crash are still unclear, and officers released no further details. The investigation into the accident is ongoing at this time.
