The woman then turned onto Compton Drive and stopped before reversing into the patrol cruiser and ramming it. Lt. RJ Walker with Atlanta Police Department said that the woman sped off at that point and crashed into a telephone pole down the road, police said.
She and the child in her vehicle were taken to a hospital in serious condition. Police said they believe the woman is in her 30s and that the child, a boy, is between 5 and 8 years of age. The officer in the patrol cruiser was not injured.
