7/9 Ellenwood, GA – Car Accident in NB Lanes of I-675 Near Ellenwood Rd

Atlanta, GA (August 12, 2021) – At 11:26 p.m. on the night of Thursday, August 12, a two-vehicle collision with injuries occurred on a highway in Atlanta.

According to Atlanta Police, the accident happened in the eastbound lanes of GA-166 around the area of Delowe Drive. Two vehicles were traveling in the area when they collided with one another. One of the sedans turned around in traffic and slammed into the median barrier. The vehicles were badly damaged and had to be towed from the scene.

Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims, who have not yet been identified, were taken to local hospitals for treatment. Their conditions are not yet known.

The roadway was blocked in multiple lanes as police worked to clear the scene.

No further details have been released but the investigation into the accident remains ongoing.
