Atlanta, GA – Tractor-Trailer Rollover Crash with Injuries on The Perimeter
Atlanta, GA (August 9, 2021) – Around 6:30 a.m. on Monday morning, August 9, a tractor-trailer rollover crash occurred in Atlanta.
According to Fulton County officials, the accident happened in the southbound lanes of The Perimeter. A tractor-trailer was traveling in the area when it was struck by a bobtail truck. The 46-year-old driver of the bobtail was attempting to avoid another accident in the area. The driver initially left the lane of travel to avoid the accident but slammed into the back of the tractor-trailer, causing the second vehicle to overturn onto its driver’s side.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene. The driver of the tractor-trailer, who has not yet been identified, was injured in the crash. He was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.
The vehicles were left in the southbound lanes until about 8:30 a.m. when police were able to clear the scene.
The driver of the bobtail truck was charged with failing to maintain his lane of traffic.
No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
