Atlanta, GA – Tractor-Trailer Collision Leads to Injuries on I-285
Atlanta, GA (August 17, 2021) – Around 11 a.m. on Tuesday, August 17, a tractor-trailer collision occurred in Atlanta during heavy rains.
According to police, the accident happened in the southbound lanes of I-285 around the area of Williams Street. A tractor-trailer was traveling in the area when it lost control and the driver slammed into multiple other vehicles. The vehicles were identified as two passenger vehicles and two trucks, all of which sustained damages due to the crash.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims were injured in the crash. The injured parties were hospitalized, though their identities and conditions are not yet known.
The roadway was completely blocked in the area until approximately 1 p.m.
No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
