Atlanta, GA – Tractor-Trailer Accident on I-285 Near I-85
Atlanta, GA (December 21, 2021) – At 6:03 p.m. on the evening of Tuesday, December 21, a tractor-trailer accident with injuries occurred in Atlanta.
According to DeKalb County officials, the accident happened in the westbound lanes of I-285 around the area of I-85. A vehicle was traveling in the area when it violently collided with a tractor-trailer in the area due to reasons that are not yet known. The passenger vehicle was pushed underneath the tractor-trailer, which led to extensive damages to both vehicles.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision. The injured parties were taken to local hospitals for treatment, though their conditions are not yet known.
Due to the severity of the accident, all lanes of traffic were blocked in the area for an extended period of time as police worked to clear the scene.
