Atlanta, GA – Serious Truck Accident on I-85 at Hwy 51 Results in Injuries
Atlanta, GA (May 9, 2021) – Around 10:00 p.m. on Sunday evening, May 9, a serious truck accident with injuries took place in Atlanta.
According to Atlanta officials, the accident happened in the northbound lanes of I-85 around the area of Highway 51, also known as exit 160. It’s unclear how many victims sustained injuries and police haven’t released details about the circumstances of the wreck; however, paramedics were spotted at the scene to treat and transport any victims.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims were taken to the hospital for treatment of their injuries, though their conditions are not yet known.
The entire roadway was closed as a result of the incident and officers urged those traveling through to use Highway 41.
The investigation into the collision continues at this time.
