Atlanta, GA – Serious Car Wreck Causing Injuries Reported on I-675 at Stockbridge Rd
Atlanta, GA (July 18, 2021) – Around 5:30 p.m. on Sunday afternoon, July 18, a multi-vehicle crash occurred in the greater Atlanta area of Clayton County.
Atlanta Police confirmed that the accident took place when multiple vehicles collided in the northbound lanes of I-675 close to the State Route 138 ramp. The accident occurred near the Stockbridge Road exit, and multiple vehicles had to be removed from the scene by wreckers.
Clayton County emergency responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were dispatched to the scene of the accident to assist those with injuries. One or more victims, who have not yet been identified, were hospitalized. However, the victim’s current conditions, as well as the extent of their injuries, are unknown.
Multiple left lanes were blocked in the area for an extended period of time. Police urged those traveling in the area to use Highway 42 until they cleared the scene.
The investigation is ongoing, and further details have not been released. Police asked anyone with information to contact troopers with the Georgia State Patrol.
