Atlanta, GA – Rollover Tractor-Trailer Accident in EB Lanes of I-285
Atlanta, GA (August 5, 2021) – At 7:07 p.m. on the evening of Wednesday, August 4, a rollover tractor-trailer occurred on a highway in Atlanta.
According to Fulton County officials, the accident happened in the eastbound lanes of I-285 around the area of Jonesboro Road. A truck was traveling in the area when it was struck by a passenger vehicle due to reasons that are not yet known. The truck immediately overturned, which led to extensive damages.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims were taken to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries.
The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time. This led to delays until police cleared the scene. Police urged those in the area to use I-20 as an alternate route.
