Atlanta, GA – Rollover Accident with Injuries in SB Lanes of I-85
Atlanta, GA (August 17, 2021) – At 9 a.m. on the morning of Tuesday, August 17, a rollover accident with injuries occurred on a highway in Atlanta.
According to Atlanta Police, the accident happened in the southbound lanes of I-85 around the area of University Avenue. Two or more vehicles were traveling in the area during rainy road conditions. The vehicles collided with one another, causing one of them to overturn in the middle of the roadway. The vehicles involved were badly damaged as a result.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims were taken to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries. Their conditions are not yet known.
The right lane of traffic was blocked in the area for some time, which led to delays until police cleared the scene.
No further details have been released but the investigation into the accident remains ongoing.
