Atlanta, GA – Rear-End Collision on I-85 Near Clairmont Rd
Atlanta, GA (July 11, 2021) – At 6:56 a.m. on the morning of Sunday, July 11, a rear-end collision with injuries occurred on an Atlanta highway.
According to DeKalb County officials, the accident happened in the northbound lanes of I-85 around the area of exit 91, Clairmont Road. A purple sedan was traveling in the area when it slammed into the back of a white pickup truck due to reasons that are not yet known. The vehicles involved in the crash were both damaged as a result.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims were injured and taken to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries.
Several lanes of traffic were blocked in the area for an extended period of time as police worked to clear the scene.
The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
